Overnight on July 17, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Odesa. According to the latest figures cited by city military administration head Serhiy Lysak, two people were killed.
He said six people were injured, including three children. In the city’s Khadzhibei district, 11 residential buildings were damaged.
Earlier, the city military administration reported that the strike also damaged a religious institution, a preschool facility, cars, and other civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command said Russian forces launched eight missiles and 130 drones across Ukraine during the night, including decoy drones. According to the Ukrainian military, five missiles and 115 drones were shot down.
Russia’s Defense Ministry, for its part, said it had “continued strikes on Ukraine’s ports used in the interests of cargo deliveries for the Ukrainian armed forces.”
This was not the first attack on the city in recent days. Overnight on July 14, a Russian missile strike on Odesa killed three people and injured six others.
