The Kherson Regional Court, established by Russian authorities in the occupied part of the region, sentenced a resident of the Oleshky district to 13 years in a strict-regime penal colony in a case over cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence. The ruling was reported in a press release published on the court’s website.
According to the statement, the convicted man is 31 years old. He was found guilty under the article on high treason, Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code. In addition to the prison term, the court imposed one and a half years of restricted freedom and a fine of 350,000 rubles.
The man’s name was not disclosed in the publication. It also does not specify when exactly he was detained.
Investigators’ version
Investigators say that in 2023 the resident of the Oleshky district made contact with Ukrainian intelligence and agreed to cooperate. After that, according to the security services, he began collecting information about the locations of Russian troops and military equipment.
The investigation alleges that in February 2025 he sent the collected information to his “handler” via Telegram.
The sentencing report says this information could have been used “to deliver fire strikes on the deployment sites of Russian servicemen and military equipment.”
