The Moscow Regional Court upheld the sentence of Yevgeny Fedorov, a 46-year-old resident of Khimki convicted under the article on treason. According to a Mediazona correspondent, his appeal against the earlier verdict was heard in Moscow on June 22 by the 1st Appellate Court.
Following the appeal hearing, Fedorov’s punishment was left unchanged at 14 years in a high-security penal colony. He was also ordered to pay a 200,000-ruble fine.
It emerged during the hearing that Fedorov had been detained on December 17, 2024. No other details of the case are known, as the proceedings were held behind closed doors.
When announcing the ruling, the court also ordered the confiscation of evidence in the case, including a mobile phone and hard drives. It was not specified what information those devices contained.
Fedorov asked for permission to “copy personal data” from them, but the judge told him to submit a request to the court of first instance.
According to leaked database records, Fedorov worked at the Lianozovo Electromechanical Plant, part of the defense conglomerate Almaz-Antey. The enterprise specializes in developing and producing radar systems, as well as components and radars for air defense systems.
