Security forces in Kursk detained a 15-year-old teenager. He is accused of preparing to participate in a terrorist organization under Part 1 of Article 30 and Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code. The regional Investigative Committee said so in a statement.
According to investigators, in May 2026 the teenager began corresponding via Telegram with a representative of an organization whose name was not disclosed in the agency’s statement. Russian authorities classify that organization as terrorist.
The Investigative Committee says that during the exchange, the boy told the other party that he wanted and was ready to engage in joint activity with such an organization.
The Investigative Committee said the teenager told his interlocutor about “his desire and readiness to carry out joint activity with a terrorist organization.”
The agency also said the minor was identified together with the FSB. Investigators are now seeking pretrial detention as a preventive measure.
No other circumstances of the case have been disclosed so far. Additional details of the accusation had not been made public at the time of the report.
