On the night of July 20, 2026, the Moscow region came under a large-scale drone attack. According to the latest data, 10 people were injured. The largest number of casualties was reported in Domodedovo, where seven people were hurt and six were hospitalized, including three Chinese citizens, Governor Andrei Vorobyov said.
According to Vorobyov, four of the injured suffered shrapnel wounds, a 53-year-old man sustained an open femur fracture, and a 26-year-old man suffered a lower-leg wound. In Podolsk, two women were treated at the scene, while in the Odintsovo district an 11-year-old girl was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction. Domodedovo hospital reported that six people had been admitted with blast injuries.
Vorobyov said several private homes and some civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged in the attack. One drone fell onto the M-4 highway. Domodedovo district head Yevgenia Khrustalyova said a fire broke out on the grounds of the Yuzhnye Vorota industrial park. Another drone struck the upper floor of a residential building on Kuryzhova Street.
After analyzing published photos and videos, Astra reported that an oil depot in Podolsk was hit and caught fire; Agenstvo later said the facility was located in the Lvovsky neighborhood. Residents of the village of Koledino also reported a fire at a Wildberries logistics center, but the company said the warehouse continued operating normally after an evacuation.
As Agenstvo noted, Wildberries also has a warehouse in Yuzhnye Vorota, which also hosts facilities used by Lemana Pro, Alibaba Group, and other companies. Officials did not specify what exactly was burning in the park. The site is operated by Instone Development; in early 2026, the company’s main owner became the Talent and Success foundation associated with Sergei Roldugin.
Commenting on the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said there had been “results” from strikes on logistics sites and an oil depot, and that the distance from the Ukrainian border to the targets exceeded 400 kilometers.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that from 8:30 p.m. on July 19 until 5 a.m., more than 400 Ukrainian drones were heading toward the capital region, with 85 of them shot down on approach to Moscow. It was the second massive attack on the Moscow region in three days; the previous one took place on the night of July 18.
