At least 29 people were killed when a Russian An-26 military transport plane crashed in Crimea. TASS reported this, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the ministry, the dead included six crew members and 23 passengers. A Defense Ministry commission is working at the scene.
The ministry said the An-26 military transport aircraft was carrying out a scheduled flight over annexed Crimea. Contact with the plane was lost at about 18:00 Moscow time.
According to preliminary information, the cause of the crash was a technical malfunction. A TASS source at the scene said that the plane crashed into a rock.
