In Russia's Voronezh region, authorities declared mourning from June 23 to June 25 for those killed in a missile strike carried out on June 22. Governor Aleksandr Gusev announced the decision.
During the mourning period, state flags in the region are to be flown at half-mast. Local authorities also advised cultural institutions to cancel entertainment events and recommended that television and radio companies adjust their broadcasting schedules.
According to local officials, five people were killed in the missile attack. Several dozen others sought medical assistance. Most of those affected were later sent home after receiving treatment.
According to OSINT analysts, the target of the strike on Voronezh was the main building of the Sborka semiconductor instrument plant. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the attack on the facility, saying it produces electronics for Iskander and Kh-101 missiles, as well as Pantsir-S1 air defense systems.
The outlet Astra reported that an apartment building in Voronezh was damaged during the attack. According to the publication, the building was likely hit by falling missile debris. It is located near the Voronezh Mechanical Plant, the Chemical Automation Design Bureau, and a military airfield.
