In Moscow, FSB officers detained a 25-year-old native of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in the Rostov region. According to the security service, she is suspected of preparing an attack on a senior Defense Ministry officer. TASS reported this, citing the FSB’s Public Relations Center.
The agency claims the detention prevented an “unprecedented series of terrorist attacks” against Russian military personnel. The FSB press office also released a video showing the woman’s detention and interrogation.
In the recording, the woman says that in 2024 she re-established contact with an old acquaintance, Yaroslav Khmelnitsky, whom she had first met in 2020. According to her, he said he was in Ukraine and had previously assisted Ukrainian special services.
“I said I wanted to help. I said: if anything comes up, contact me,” the woman says in the interrogation video published by the FSB.
Later, according to the footage, a coordinator contacted her via WhatsApp and asked her to provide the IP addresses of Wi-Fi networks in several venues in central St. Petersburg. After that, she said she wanted to go to Ukraine to help civilians. The handler replied that this was possible, and in the fall of 2025 gave her another task: to monitor a military officer’s car.
According to law enforcement, in March 2026 she was instructed to rent an apartment in Moscow and install surveillance cameras there. The FSB says the apartment was then used to monitor the serviceman’s address and vehicle, with the video feed transmitted to Ukraine.
In the published video, the detainee says she did not know whom she was watching, but suspected that the purpose of the surveillance was ultimately “his liquidation.” The FSB’s Public Relations Center also said the alleged attack was being prepared using a UAV and with the direct involvement of Western handlers. According to the agency, cameras, “disguise items,” and smartphones containing messages with the handler were seized from the rented apartment.
