Sevastopol was left without electricity after an attack by Ukrainian drones, according to Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-installed head of the occupied city. He said specialists were assessing the scale of the damage and working to deal with the aftermath.
Razvozhayev urged residents to conserve phone batteries and use their devices only for emergency communication. He also asked people not to overload the grid once electricity is restored. Kindergartens in the city were placed on a special operating schedule, and parents were advised to keep their children at home if possible.
The Telegram channel Krymsky Veter, citing subscribers, reported that there were three strikes on Sevastopol’s main electrical substation, after which a fire broke out there.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian forces intercepted and destroyed 323 Ukrainian drones overnight into June 24. The ministry said the drones were shot down over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Orenburg, Penza, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, and Tula regions, as well as Krasnodar Krai, the Moscow region, annexed Crimea, and the waters of the Azov and Black seas.
