Since the evening of July 12, Moscow and the surrounding Moscow region have been attacked by more than 350 Ukrainian drones, according to Russian authorities. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said most of the drones were intercepted “at distant approaches,” while another 50 were destroyed as they neared the capital.
The deadliest consequences were reported in Pionersky, a settlement in Istra in the Moscow region. Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov said that three people were killed there when a drone fell, and another three were injured.
Vorobyov also said that five private homes caught fire in Pionersky. Another two private houses were damaged in the village of Babkino near Istra.
In Solnechnogorsk, a drone struck an apartment building. Authorities said two people were injured. A wall of the building was damaged and windows were shattered.
In Mozhaisk, officials said the cornice of another apartment building was damaged and windows were broken.
Authorities also reported consequences in Vladimir. Vladimir region Governor Aleksandr Avdeev said a fallen drone shattered windows in one apartment of a multi-story residential building. According to him, there were no deaths or injuries, and 39 people, including eight children, were evacuated from the building.
