The village of Sedanka in Tigilsky District will receive the honorary designation "Village of Military Valor" for its contributions to the Ukraine conflict, announced Kamchatka governor Vladimir Solodov.

"This recognition honors both the bravery of heroes and fulfills my obligation to the community. Sedanka will become Russia's first settlement awarded this title for involvement in the special military operation," Solodov stated regarding the decision.

The governor highlighted that 39 local men—representing half of Sedanka's male population—joined the war effort in Ukraine. Solodov has frequently emphasized that the village has Kamchatka's highest per-capita participation rate in the Ukraine conflict. Official figures indicate Sedanka's population stands at 457 residents.

Reports from "7x7" confirm at least five Sedanka natives have been killed in combat, with one additional resident currently listed as missing.

Media outlets describe Sedanka as among Russia's most economically disadvantaged communities. The Kamchatka Life project specifically noted residents struggle to meet basic survival needs.

Mediazona reports indicate that by August 2025, Russian military fatalities in Ukraine had reached at least 121,000, with Bashkiria, Tatarstan, and Yekaterinburg recording the highest casualty numbers.
