Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had approved a “40-day influence operation” by the Security Service of Ukraine against Russia, saying its goal was to help bring about an end to the war. He wrote this in his Telegram channel after a meeting with the head of the agency, Yevhen Khmara.
Zelensky said he had received a report from Khmara covering “our plan for long-range sanctions, medium-range sanctions, and the results of the Alpha Special Operations Center at the front.”
According to the Ukrainian president, the SBU now has “the highest indicators in protecting Ukraine’s positions at the front thanks to the use of various types of drones.”
At the same time, Zelensky did not explain what exactly the announced “40-day influence operation” entails or what actions it is supposed to include. No further details were provided in the post.
The SBU has been involved in drone strikes on Russian territory. Against that backdrop, the report says, a fuel crisis has emerged in Russia after intensified Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries.
