The 2nd Western District Military Court fined 23-year-old Yekaterina Tsvelova, a native of Donetsk who had been living in Voronezh, 400,000 rubles in a case on justifying terrorism online. The court’s press service reported the ruling.
The case was heard under Article 205.2, Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code. According to the investigation, in May 2024 Tsvelova posted a comment in Ukrainian under a publication by the head of the Kharkiv regional administration. Investigators concluded that the message contained a call for violence against Vladimir Putin and for the destruction of the Kremlin as the place where the head of state stays and where political decisions are made.
The court press service did not disclose the exact wording of the comment. At the same time, it said that, in its account, Tsvelova held a negative attitude toward the special military operation.
At the hearing, according to the press service, Tsvelova said she had written the comment while under severe stress. She said this was caused by the death of her uncle in the war in Ukraine.
