The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow sentenced 55-year-old Denis Razuvaev, the father of former Rosmolodezh head Ksenia Razuvaeva, to 6.5 years in a general-regime penal colony in a fraud case. A Mediazona correspondent reported this from the courtroom. The court also imposed a fine of 800,000 rubles.
In May 2025, the Telegram channel VChK-OGPU, citing sources, reported on the case against Razuvaev. According to that report, he had actually been detained in August 2024 and was accused of large-scale fraud committed by a group. Investigators said he took part in stealing money under the guise of work by a charitable foundation.
The second defendant was Alexander Darev, head of the foundation “Civic Position”, which helps participants in the war in Ukraine. During the sentencing, it emerged that in August 2025 the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow had already sentenced him to 5.5 years in prison. Under the combined sentences, Darev was given 9 years in prison and the same fine of 800,000 rubles.
Judging by the physical evidence listed by the judge, the criminal case was tied specifically to the work of the Civic Position foundation: most of the materials mentioned were the organization’s documents. Last year, the Justice Ministry sought to liquidate the foundation. The court also mentioned a car that a victim from the self-proclaimed DPR had transferred to the foundation, as well as Ksenia Razuvaeva’s mobile phone; both were returned to their owners.
Ksenia Razuvaeva was present when the verdict was announced. She left her post as head of Rosmolodezh in August 2024, the same month when, according to VChK-OGPU, the case against her father was opened. At that time, she also stepped down from presidential councils on family and child protection policy and on Cossack affairs. The channel also said searches in the case had taken place at her home.
On the same day, Investigative Committee chairman Alexander Bastrykin, speaking at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, criticized Rosmolodezh’s work and referred to the criminal case against the father of the predecessor of the agency’s current head. The outlet Agentstvo drew attention to the remarks.
“A young woman, around thirty years old, well, she simply got caught in fraud, I won’t name her. Rosmolodezh means fraud. And that young woman’s father had also previously been caught under a fraud charge. Why create such an organization at all, it is unclear. It gets budget money, but produces no results,” Bastrykin said.
