The "Gosuslugi" government services portal will introduce a new feature displaying locations of nearby bomb shelters, according to Sergey Starovoitov, deputy head of the Civil Defense and Population Protection Department at the Emergency Ministry.

"Through their personal account on Gosuslugi, users will access a dedicated section showing their designated shelter and emergency meeting points. Similar functionality will be implemented for evacuation centers," the official explained.

Pilot testing has occurred in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, with nationwide rollout expected by late 2025.

Starovoitov revealed that shelter renovations require approximately 155 billion rubles. While the Emergency Ministry sought financial support, the Finance Ministry redirected responsibility to regional authorities. Despite funding challenges, shelter upgrades continue, with completion targeted for 2030.

Data from the 2016 Audit Chamber report indicates Russia constructed 16,448 protective facilities nationwide.
