The Yekaterinburg Central District Military Court has acquitted Sergei Silantiev, a 63-year-old retiree from Izhevsk, who faced charges for distributing leaflets linked to the "Freedom of Russia" legion. According to Mediazona's report, the court dismissed the case against him.

Investigations revealed that on July 21, Judge Valentin Krylov convicted Silantiev under multiple criminal statutes: treason (Article 275), endorsing terrorism (Article 205.2 Part 1), involvement in a terrorist group (Article 205.5 Part 2), and inciting actions against Russian national security (Article 280.4 Part 2, clauses "c" and "d").

Although the court initially handed down a 15-year prison sentence, Silantiev was immediately released in the courtroom with only a two-year restriction on managing websites. The prosecution had sought a 25-year jail term. The pensioner admitted guilt to all charges.
