Armenian security forces arrived at the home of the Armenian Apostolic Church's leader. Violent confrontations erupted between police and religious followers.

Armenian special forces arrived at the residence of Garegin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians and leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), located in Echmiadzin, according to News.am.

Reports indicate that National Security Service personnel conducted search operations at the monastery, intending to arrest Archbishop Mikayel Ajapakhyan, head of the Shirak diocese.

Catholicos Garegin II, along with priests and congregants, reportedly gathered at the scene, obstructing law enforcement officers from entering the monastery.
