The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Russian airbases in Kubinka (Moscow region) and Shaykovka (Kaluga region). This was stated by Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation.
Details of the operation have not been disclosed. According to the Ukrainian representative, Shaykovka airfield is used to deploy Tu-22M3 bombers and Kh-22 missiles, while Kubinka hosts Su-27 and MiG-29 fighter jets.
As established by the ASTRA publication through analysis of NASA satellite data, fires were recorded at both airfields following a massive drone strike.
