In the Kursk region, streets and squares will be named after North Korean military personnel who fought against Ukrainian troops, and memorial monuments will also be erected. This was announced by the Russian ambassador to the DPRK, Alexander Matsegora, whose remarks were reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"In the liberated settlements, majestic obelisks dedicated to Korean heroes will appear, and the rebuilt streets and squares will bear their names—those whose feats will forever remain in the memory and hearts of Russians," the diplomat stated at a reception at the Russian embassy on May 8.
Matsegora emphasized that Vladimir Putin "noted the bravery, dedication, and military skill of Korean comrades, whose contribution to the liberation of the Kursk region cannot be overstated."
