Donald Trump announced on the social network Truth Social that India and Pakistan, with U.S. assistance, have reached an agreement to completely cease hostilities.

"After intense overnight negotiations involving the American side, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate and complete ceasefire," wrote the former U.S. president.

He noted that Delhi and Islamabad "have shown prudence." The terms of the agreement remain unknown for now.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified that both countries are ready to begin negotiations on a wide range of issues on neutral ground.

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed Trump's statement, noting that the agreement is effective immediately upon signing. He also did not disclose the details of the document.

"Pakistan has always advocated for peace and stability in the region without compromising its sovereignty and territorial integrity!" he stated.

Later, India officially confirmed the ceasefire with Pakistan. According to the country's Foreign Ministry, the ceasefire took effect on Saturday at 17:00 local time (14:30 Moscow time).
