The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump intends to sell a federal building named after Wilbur J. Cohen in Washington. This building houses the headquarters of the Voice of America (VOA) radio station, as reported by Bloomberg.

According to the agency, U.S. authorities have included this structure, located two blocks from the Capitol, in the list of real estate properties slated for sale.

The building spans over 90,000 square meters. In addition to VOA, it is home to the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees Voice of America, as well as the Department of Health and Human Services.

Bloomberg notes that even if VOA manages to restore its funding, the sale of the building could leave the station's employees and contractors without jobs.

In mid-March, RFE/RL and Voice of America ceased broadcasting after USAGM froze the grant allocated for journalists' work. The outlets are currently challenging the funding termination in court.
