Ukrainian nationals stranded in Georgia's buffer zone have submitted a formal declaration to customs officials announcing their decision to begin a hunger strike.

On August 6 morning, fifteen former Ukrainian prisoners awaiting transfer in the buffer zone near the Verkhny Lars-Daryali border crossing between Russia and Georgia informed the head of Georgia's customs service they were beginning a hunger strike.
