According to OVD Info, Russia's Ministry of Justice has designated the Andrei Sakharov Institute as an "undesirable" organization. The institute was officially added to the registry on July 22, though authorities provided no explanation for this decision.

The ministry's list also includes another organization called "Peace. Progress. Human Rights," which similarly bears Sakharov's name. Established in Paris by former Sakharov associate and human rights advocate Lev Ponomarev, the Andrei Sakharov Institute offers support to Russians experiencing political persecution, including refugees and defectors.

OVD Info reports that the "Peace. Progress. Human Rights" network emerged following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This coalition brings together anti-war activists from various fields, including human rights defenders, journalists, politicians, and other professionals.
