In Russia, a "self-ban" mechanism is planned to be introduced, which will allow citizens to restrict access to "dangerous information" on the internet.

According to a publication by Kommersant, on August 14, a government plan aimed at countering crimes involving the use of information and communication technologies was adopted. The document includes 37 points. Among the proposed measures are an obligation for data operators to report signs of unlawful activities on the internet to law enforcement agencies, the possibility for citizens to voluntarily refuse access to "potentially dangerous information," as well as the right for the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office to restrict communications in the event of threats to security or citizens.
