The Ministry of Justice has included political scientist Sergei Markov, known for his support of the authorities, in the "foreign agents" registry. The corresponding statement was disseminated by the department's press service.

According to the Ministry of Justice's position, Markov participated in the preparation and dissemination of materials created by "foreign agents" and "undesirable" organizations. Additionally, he provided commentary on platforms affiliated with such entities. The department also noted that the political scientist disseminated false information about the decisions and policies of Russian state bodies.

In a conversation with "Ostorozhno Media," Markov called the incident a "mistake and slander." He stated: "In my opinion, this is some kind of slander because, first of all, I am not a foreign agent, and secondly, I had no contacts. Sometimes mistakes can happen. I know nothing about this."

On the same day, the "foreign agents" list also included blogger and musician Dmitry Nyuberg (Qianti), Archpriest Andrei Kordochkin, activist Radzhana Dugarova, the Tamizdat Project, and the television channel "Alif TV," which focuses on the lives of Muslims.
