Kirill Vyshinsky, who held the position of executive director of MIA "Russia Today", has passed away.

At the age of 59, Kirill Vyshinsky, the executive director of MIA "Russia Today," has passed away. The news of his death was reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the publication, the cause of the propagandist's death was a "serious illness," though its specific nature was not disclosed.

Vyshinsky was born on February 9, 1967, in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). From 2006 to 2014, holding both Russian and Ukrainian citizenship, he worked as a correspondent for VGTRK in Ukraine.

From 2014 to 2018, Vyshinsky headed the Ukrainian bureau of the state agency RIA Novosti. In May 2018, he was detained in Ukraine on suspicion of treason. In September 2019, the journalist was handed over to Russia as part of an exchange and returned to Moscow.

Later, he assumed the position of executive director of the propaganda holding "Russia Today" and also became a member of the Human Rights Council. In October 2023, Vyshinsky was appointed editor-in-chief of Radio Sputnik.
