On July 20, a traffic accident occurred in Grozny involving a car driven by Yasin Zakriyev, head of the Chechen Audit Chamber and nephew of Ramzan Kadyrov. His vehicle collided with a Lada Priora carrying a married couple and their two children. This was reported by the Memorial Human Rights Center, citing its sources.

The incident was also covered by the opposition Telegram channel Niyso. According to its information, Zakriyev was driving at an extremely high speed.

As a result of the crash, the car hit a pole, leading to the deaths of the parents and serious injuries to the children. Zakriyev himself was unharmed. The next day, a funeral was held, during which authorities arranged an immediate "reconciliation ceremony" between the families. As part of this ritual, the relatives of the deceased publicly forgave the guilty party, thereby releasing him from blood feud.

Information about the traffic accident was not published by republican media and was not commented on by law enforcement agencies. Kadyrov’s nephew faced no legal consequences.

Human rights activists noted: "It is likely that Yasin Zakriyev was not under the influence of alcohol <...>, but this does not negate his gross violation of traffic rules."
