Russia plans to introduce a limit on the number of bank cards a single citizen can issue: no more than ten. This is reported by the RIA Novosti agency.

This initiative is aimed at combating droppers — intermediaries of fraudsters who transfer their cards to them. The proposal is part of the second set of measures developed to fight cyber fraud.

As reported by the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, additional measures against droppers are being introduced, including a limit of ten cards per person.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development presented the second package of measures against cybercrime, containing about 20 proposals. Among them is the obligation for banks and telecom operators to compensate victims of fraud in case of their inaction.

Additionally, the authorities propose a mechanism for out-of-court blocking of phishing sites, as well as resources distributing malicious software or offering to purchase uncertified communication devices.
