On August 31, memorial events took place in Arkhangelsk to mark the 84th anniversary of the arrival of the first Allied Arctic convoy as part of Operation Dervish. The ceremonies were attended by the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to Russia: Nigel Casey, Sarah Taylor, and John Geering. As reported to "Novaya-Europe" by the British diplomatic mission, the delegation laid flowers at the memorials to British sailors who perished in the Arctic, as well as paid tribute at the Eternal Flame and the Arctic Convoys monument.
A commemorative event dedicated to the Arctic convoys took place in Arkhangelsk. Diplomatic representatives from the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia participated in the ceremony.
