Ukrainian law enforcement has arrested a person suspected of murdering former Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state noted that the detainee has already begun giving testimony. Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko added that the arrest took place in the Khmelnytskyi region.
According to Klymenko, the crime was carefully planned: the victim's daily routine was studied, a route was mapped out, and an escape plan was developed. The investigation identified the direct perpetrator within a day of the murder, and the suspect was detained 12 hours later.
Later, the National Police of Ukraine published the first photos of the arrested individual. The head of the agency, Ivan Vyhovsky, stated that a "Russian trace" is evident in the case but did not disclose additional details.
