Russia's largest publishing house has begun checking all books for compliance with legislation using Chinese artificial intelligence. The relevant information was disseminated in a newsletter by the StraightForward Foundation, which opposes censorship.

The name of the publishing house was not disclosed in the message, but it was clarified that it is the leader in the Russian market. According to the TV channel "Dozhd," it refers to the Eksmo-AST group, which controls about 70% of the country's book market.

Starting August 5, 2025, this procedure becomes mandatory for all divisions and editorial offices of the holding. The director responsible for product release bears personal responsibility for employees' compliance with these requirements.
