The Zelenograd District Court of Moscow has fined a local resident, Elmira G., based on a report about displaying symbols associated with Satanism. This information appeared on the court’s official website and was later noticed by the Telegram channel "Ostorozhno, novosti" (Caution, News).
The amount of the fine was not specified.
Earlier, on July 30, Elmira G. was taken to a police station for a different reason—due to publications on her Telegram channel. The materials included the "Sig" and "Odal" runes, which are recognized as Nazi symbols in Russia.
At the station, law enforcement officers noticed the woman wearing a jacket with a pentagram and a bag with a Leviathan cross. A report on the "voluntary surrender" of these items with prohibited images was drawn up, after which materials regarding the display of attributes of the "International Satanic Movement" were sent to court.
During the hearing, the defendant stated that she was unaware of the ban on such symbols. According to her, she wore this clothing due to her interest in metal subculture.
This case is one of the first concerning the wearing of Satanic symbols on clothing. Previously, Russian courts had primarily fined individuals for posting such images online.
