A criminal case has been initiated against Russian footballer Fedor Smolov under Article 112, Part 1 of the Russian Criminal Code — intentional infliction of moderate harm to health. This has been reported by RT, REN TV, and TASS, citing informed sources.

According to media reports, the basis for initiating the case was an incident at the "Kofemaniya" coffee shop on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street in Moscow, which occurred at the end of May. The athlete himself has not yet commented on the matter.

On July 5, surveillance footage from the establishment was published on social media, showing Smolov approaching two visitors sitting at a table. After a verbal altercation, the footballer strikes each of them in the face and leaves. As reported by TASS, the police had previously not initiated a case due to insufficient time to gather the necessary information.
