The Investigative Committee in the city of Alexandrov, Vladimir Oblast, has initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 135 of the Russian Criminal Code, related to lewd acts of a sexual nature. The relevant information has been published on the official website of the regional department of the agency.

According to the Investigative Committee, the basis for initiating the case was allegations made during a broadcast on one of the federal television channels, claiming that a man committed a crime against the sexual integrity of his daughter.

As suggested by the publications Mash and "Ostorozhno, Novosti," the case has been opened against the so-called "Orthodox polygamist" Ivan Sukhov. Previously, on June 11, Moscow Children's Rights Commissioner Olga Yaroslavskaya reported that an investigation into Sukhov had been launched by the Investigative Committee.
