A possible meeting between Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may take place in October at the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This was reported by the Bernama agency.
According to its information, both leaders will participate in the event. The Kremlin and the White House have not yet commented on this matter.
Additionally, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa are expected to attend the summit, as reported by Bernama.
In July, a meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers was held in Kuala Lumpur, where, among other interactions, Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio had contact.
The last in-person meeting between Putin and Trump took place in Alaska on August 15; they have also spoken several times by phone. During the negotiations, options for ending the war in Ukraine were discussed. However, over the past month, hostilities have not ceased. Moreover, on September 7, Russia conducted the largest attack of the entire conflict, using 805 drones and 13 missiles.
