Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak, a long-time associate of Vladimir Putin, has submitted a resignation letter. This was reported by the publication RBC, citing two informed sources familiar with the official's decision.

According to the agency, Kozak submitted a voluntary resignation request over the past weekend. He is expected to hold a meeting with staff members in the near future. According to sources, the official does not intend to continue working in government structures and is exploring options to transition into the business sphere.

Earlier, political analyst Arkady Dubnov reported on Kozak's possible resignation, citing Kremlin sources; this information was also confirmed by former editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy Alexey Venediktov.

"Dmitry Kozak, who, according to those close to him, felt dissatisfied with his involvement in current processes, apparently deemed it necessary to leave public service, even despite an offer to take up the post of the president's envoy to the Northwestern Federal District," Dubnov commented.
