The Avtozavodsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod has suspended the hearing of the criminal case under Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code regarding the murder of police major Olga Molodchenkova. The reason was the dispatch of the accused—her husband Andrey Molodchenkov—to the war with Ukraine. This information was reported by the publication "V gorode N" with reference to the court's press service.

The incident occurred on October 25, 2024. According to the investigation materials, Andrey Molodchenkov inflicted several stab wounds to his wife's chest, then transported her body to the bank of the Oka River and buried it.

After his arrest, the defendant explained that the murder was committed due to property disputes. At the time of the crime, the spouses were in the process of divorce and were in conflict over the division of a three-room apartment and two garages.

As reported by the publication NewsNN, citing lawyer Yulia Vasilyeva, Molodchenkova had repeatedly appealed to her colleagues at the Ministry of Internal Affairs with complaints about beatings and threats from her husband, but he was never summoned to provide an explanation. The marriage lasted 27 years; the couple left behind a son and an adult daughter, who, according to media reports, has a second-degree disability.

A few days before her death, Olga Molodchenkova posted on social media about threats from her husband. She also mentioned that her spouse had doubts about his biological paternity of their son.
