According to the publication "Kommersant," citing analysts from "OMT-Consult," the third quarter of 2025 saw a reduction in the number of gas stations in Russia by 360 facilities, which amounts to approximately 2.6%.
The largest share of closed gas stations is in the Southern Federal District—14.2% (over 220 facilities). In the Far Eastern and Volga Federal Districts, the figure was 2%, and in the Central Federal District, it was 1.5%.
As "Kommersant" notes, a particularly difficult situation has developed in annexed Crimea, where about half of the gas stations are not operating. In Rostov Oblast, Mari El, and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, the number of gas stations selling gasoline decreased by 12–14%.
Experts link the problems in gas station operations to a reduction in gasoline production volumes. This is a result of scheduled repairs at oil refineries, as well as attacks by Ukrainian drones. Currently, fuel production has fallen by 10%.
Earlier, "Novaya-Evropa" reported on the closure of many gas stations in annexed Crimea. In several areas of the peninsula, gasoline shortages have persisted for about ten days.
