Tigran Keosayan has passed away. Before his death, he had been in a coma for over eight months.

Famous director and TV host Tigran Keosayan has died at the age of 59. The news of his passing was announced by his wife, Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of Russia Today.

In her statement, Simonyan wrote: "Tonight Tigran has gone to the Creator. I thank everyone who prayed for him. I ask that you refrain from calling me or our family in the near future. Thank you for your understanding."

As early as January, reports emerged that Keosayan had experienced clinical death and was placed in a coma. Eight months later, he never regained consciousness. Information about his health came exclusively from his wife.

Earlier, Margarita Simonyan shared that she had been diagnosed with cancer. In early September, she underwent a successful surgery, according to unconfirmed reports—on her breast.

As reported by The Moscow Times, RT's management is discussing the possibility of her stepping down from her position following news of the illness of the leading propagandist.
