The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has initiated a criminal case against film critic Anton Dolin. He is charged with evading obligations imposed on "foreign agents" (Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code). The relevant information came from the Moscow department of the Investigative Committee.
According to the investigation's position, Dolin repeatedly failed to comply with requirements that Russian legislation imposes on individuals recognized as "foreign agents." The issue of placing the critic on the federal wanted list is currently being decided.
Anton Dolin was added to the "foreign agents" registry in October 2022. As early as November 2023, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him due to the lack of mandatory labeling on materials. In June of this year, he was fined 5,000 rubles in a case related to participation in the activities of an "undesirable" organization—the reason was the publication of an obituary for Alexander Shirvindt on the Meduza portal.
After the start of full-scale military actions in Ukraine, Dolin left Russia. In August of this year, he became a citizen of Moldova.
Anton Dolin is known as a film critic, former editor-in-chief of the magazine "Iskusstvo Kino" (Art of Cinema), and a participant in the program "Vecherniy Urgant" (Evening Urgant). He currently publishes reviews in Meduza and hosts his own YouTube channel dedicated to cinema.
