Dmitry Bykov, a well-known writer, has been charged in absentia with a demand for seven years of imprisonment in a penal colony. The basis for this is an accusation of spreading false information about military operations, as well as evading obligations imposed on individuals designated as "foreign agents."

The Prosecutor's Office has demanded the in absentia conviction of writer Dmitry Bykov to seven years in a penal colony. The charges are related to the dissemination of unreliable information about the armed forces (Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, paragraph "d") and evasion of duties prescribed for "foreign agents" (Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). This information was reported by a journalist from the publication "Mediazona" who was present in the courtroom of the Cheremushkinsky District Court of Moscow.

Additionally, the prosecution representative petitioned for the writer to be fined 300 thousand rubles.
