A 32-year-old resident of Sretensk, Pavel, who worked on a rotational basis, was found hanged on September 19 in a military unit located in Borzya. The newspaper "Vecherka" published a report about this incident.
According to the official position of law enforcement agencies, the serviceman is suspected to have died by suicide: he inflicted cuts on his veins and then hanged himself in the weapons room. However, the relatives of the deceased reject this version, claiming that the man was a victim of murder.
As Pavel's sister recounted, 20 minutes before his death, he was on the phone with his wife. At that moment, the man was in a state of alcohol intoxication and reported that he was being sent to a reinforced regime barracks, although the reason for this decision remained unknown. When receiving the body, the relatives noticed traces of injuries: a dent on his head, broken lips and nose, as well as numerous bruises and hematomas.
"We are convinced that Pasha was killed and then the hanging was staged. On his neck, only on one side, there was a narrow strip resembling a cut. <...> On weekends, he always came home. There were no signs that he could have taken his own life. He had life plans," emphasized the sister of the deceased.
Pavel was mobilized in October 2022. He participated in combat operations as part of the 36th Brigade near Ugledar, where he was captured by Ukrainian forces and returned to his homeland a year later as part of an exchange. After that, he continued his military service. In Borzya, the man was undergoing a medical examination: doctors were processing documents for his discharge from the army due to health reasons.
