The Israeli Navy intercepted several vessels of the Sumud flotilla, which were carrying environmental activist Greta Thunberg and other supporters of the Palestinian movement. The ships were heading to the Gaza Strip with humanitarian aid. This information was disseminated by the organizers of the Global Sumud project and later confirmed by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to representatives of the activist movement, the interception of the flotilla by Israeli forces began on October 1 at approximately 20:30. Among the detained vessels are the boats Alma, Surius, and Adara. Participants of Global Sumud claim that prior to this, Israeli military forces deliberately disabled communication systems on the ships to prevent distress signals from being transmitted and to stop the live broadcast of events.
