On the night of October 2-3, Munich Airport temporarily suspended air traffic due to the appearance of unmanned aerial vehicles, as reported by the airport's press service.
Due to this disruption, 17 flights were unable to depart on schedule, affecting approximately three thousand travelers. Another 15 aircraft were redirected to the airports of Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Vienna, and Frankfurt.
According to Der Spiegel, the search operation to locate the drones and their operators was unsuccessful. Full airport operations were restored by 5 a.m. local time.
