In the Sumy region of Ukraine, Russian military struck a passenger train. This information was confirmed by the head of the regional military administration.
According to his statement, the Russian side carried out a "targeted strike" on the Shostka–Kyiv passenger train. Emergency rescue services are working at the scene, and the extent of the damage is being assessed.
The publication "Suspilne," citing official sources, reports approximately 30 casualties.
Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba clarified that two strikes were carried out on the railway station in Shostka. The first hit the locomotive of the Terechynska–Novhorod-Siverskyi suburban train, the second struck the electric locomotive of the Kyiv–Shostka train.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in his address: "Russian forces could not have been unaware that they were attacking civilians. This is terror that the international community must not ignore. Every day, Russia is taking people's lives. And only decisive actions can stop this."
