The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to researchers Susumu Kitagawa (Kyoto University), Richard Robson (University of Melbourne), and Omar M. Yaghi (Berkeley) for the creation of metal-organic frameworks. This information was disseminated through the prize's official social media pages.

The Chairman of the Nobel Committee for Chemistry emphasized: "Metal-organic frameworks demonstrate enormous potential, providing previously unattainable opportunities for developing materials with predetermined characteristics."

In 2024, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureates were American David Baker and Britons Demis Hassabis and John Jumper for research on protein structures.

Earlier this week, awards were also presented for achievements in the fields of physics and medicine.
