According to information published by RBC with reference to the Moscow Diabetes Association (MDA), cases of refusal to provide continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems to patients with diabetes have become more frequent in Russia.
The MDA sent an official appeal to the Moscow Department of Health, stating that more than seven thousand patients who had previously received permission for individual purchase of these devices have faced refusals in receiving them.
Among the citizens who were not issued monitoring systems, 5.2 thousand people have a diagnosis of "type 1 diabetes," and 1.8 thousand have "type 2 diabetes." At the same time, all these patients have established medical indications for being provided with the specified medical devices.
