Ufa journalist and public activist Olga Komleva, sentenced to 12 years in prison for disseminating false information about the armed forces (clause "d" part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code) and participating in an extremist community (part 2 of Article 282.1 of the Russian Criminal Code), has lost her ability to speak while in detention. She reported this in a letter to her husband.
According to the convicted woman, on September 8, she completely lost her oral speech, and it has not recovered to this day. The journalist clarified that similar episodes had occurred with her before, but they lasted no more than seven hours.
"One impact here, in SIZO-5 in the city of Dyurtyuli, compounded with previous cases in Ufa. It was from that day that I lost the gift of speech," Komleva shared the details.
