Poland has decided to close the last operating Russian consulate general on its territory. This step was taken as a retaliatory measure following the incident of sabotage on the railway tracks.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revoked the permit for the operation of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Gdańsk, stated the head of the foreign policy department Radosław Sikorski. This diplomatic mission was the only Russian consular institution that remained operational on the territory of Poland.
