A resident of the Urals has become the first person in the country to be fined for attempting to search online for materials deemed extremist.

The court in the city of Kamensk-Uralsky has imposed a fine of three thousand rubles on former paramedic Sergei Glukhikh. The basis was an administrative case initiated under Article 13.53 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses, related to the discovery of materials deemed "extremist."
